Terms of Service
Last updated 3 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and This Way Works LLC for the use of skadooble.com, the Active Recall browser extension, and anything else we offer under the Skadooble name (the “Service”). By using the Service you accept them. They’re written to be read, so please do — especially AI-generated content and subscriptions.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 to use Skadooble. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission.
You’re responsible for what happens under your account, so keep access to your email secure — sign-in is by email code or Google, so whoever controls your inbox controls your account.
You can also use Skadooble as a guest, without an account. Guest courses are stored in that browser only. Clearing your browser data deletes them permanently and we cannot recover them.
Your material stays yours
You keep every right you already had in the notes, documents, and text you add. We don’t claim ownership of it, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use it to advertise to you.
You give us permission to store your material and send it to our AI provider for processing, purely so we can generate questions, summaries, glossaries, and grades for you. That permission exists to run the Service and for nothing else. It ends when you delete the material.
You must have the right to upload what you upload. Your own notes are fine. A textbook, a paywalled article, a licensed course pack, or a classmate’s work may not be — that’s between you and whoever owns it, and by adding it you confirm you’re allowed to.
AI-generated content
Practice questions, answers, explanations, and grades are generated by an AI model and can be wrong. We check generated answer keys with a second model and drop or correct what it catches, but that check is not perfect and does not run on every path. Wrong answers will get through.
Treat Skadooble as practice, not as an authority. Don’t rely on it as your only source for an exam, an assignment, a grade, or any decision that matters. Where it disagrees with your course material or your instructor, they are right and we are not. You can edit or delete any question you think is wrong, and we’d like to hear about it.
Using Skadooble is also not permission to break your institution’s rules. Academic integrity policies are yours to follow.
Fair use of the Service
Please don’t:
- work around the usage limits, sign-in, or payment — including by scripting the app, cycling guest sessions, or sharing one account across many people;
- resell, sublicense, or repackage the Service or its output as your own product;
- use it to generate material that is illegal, or that harasses or endangers someone;
- probe, overload, or attack the Service, or try to reach data that isn’t yours.
There are daily limits on AI actions, and caps on courses, units, material size, and uploads. They exist so one person can’t exhaust the capacity everyone shares. We may adjust them as costs and usage change; if a change materially reduces what a paid plan gives you, we’ll tell you first.
Subscriptions and billing
Skadooble has a free tier and a paid tier (“Pro”). The price, currency, and billing period are whatever is shown to you on the checkout page before you pay. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the same price, until you cancel. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
You can cancel at any time from Account → Manage subscription, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and then return to the free tier — your courses, questions, and history are not deleted, but Pro-only features stop being available.
If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend Pro features until it succeeds. If we change the price, we’ll give you notice before it applies to a renewal, and you can cancel before then.
Refunds
If you’re not happy with Pro, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we’ll refund it in full. No form to fill in, no reason required.
Beyond that window, payments already made aren’t refunded, and cancelling part-way through a period doesn’t create a partial refund — you keep the access you’ve paid for until the period ends. If something went genuinely wrong, such as a double charge or a failure on our side, email us and we’ll put it right.
Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law where you live, including any statutory cancellation period.
Ending things
You can stop using Skadooble whenever you like, and you can delete your account and everything in it from your account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and it does not by itself refund an active subscription — cancel first if you want to stop billing.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to abuse the Service, or where we’re required to. Except in clear cases of abuse we’ll warn you first, and if we close a paid account without cause we’ll refund the unused part of the period.
Availability
We aim to keep Skadooble running and your data safe, but the Service is provided “as is”. We don’t promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be accurate. Features may change or be withdrawn as the product develops.
Keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose. Your original notes should live somewhere other than here too.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, This Way Works LLC isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost data or lost profits, or for academic outcomes — including a grade, a result, or an exam — arising from your use of the Service.
Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50.
Some places don’t allow these limits. Where that’s true for you, they don’t apply and nothing here affects rights that cannot be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects your rights or what you’re paying for, we’ll give you reasonable notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use Skadooble after that means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, and disputes are subject to the courts there. If you’re a consumer elsewhere, this doesn’t deprive you of the protection of your local mandatory consumer law.
